Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Updates on COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
We’re reviewing the federal guidance issued Monday, Jan. 10, on accessing coverage for no-cost, over the counter Covid-19 tests effective Saturday, Jan. 15. Check back here later this week for more information.
3/3/23 Update: The White House recently announced plans to end the federal COVID-19 emergency effective end of day May 11, 2023. This will likely mean coverage changes for COVID-19 lab testing and related visit, over-the-counter (OTC) testing, COVID-19 vaccines, recovery treatments, and telehealth services. The amount you pay for these services will depend upon your plan. We will keep you updated as we learn more about these changes.
The safety and wellbeing of our members, employees, and the communities we serve is at the center of everything we do. We’re here to help with the COVID-19 and the COVID-19 vaccine resources.
In response to new state and federal guidelines, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield will cover over-the-counter COVID-19 tests at no cost for many members.
Did you know: All Americans are also able to order free over-the-counter COVID-19 tests through the federal government website, covidtests.gov.
Your health and wellbeing is our top priority. We're here to support you when you need it most.
